    Foundation GE at Palomar College

    Three semesters through MATH 205

Palomar's chain runs MATH C2210, then MATH 141E, then MATH 205: three semesters minimum. MATH 141E needs MATH C2210 or MATH C2210E, so start calculus your first term.

    Palomar semesters, UCSD quarters

UCSD teaches calculus and accounting across quarters; Palomar covers the same requirements in semesters. Each Palomar course still lines up with one full UCSD course.

    Watch Out

Common Mistakes for This Transfer Path

Enhanced sections cover the first two calculus courses

MATH 140E and MATH 141E are enhanced versions of Palomar's first two calculus courses, both accepted for MATH 20A and MATH 20B. MATH 205, the third course, has no enhanced section.

MATH 205 needs MATH C2220 or MATH 141E

Palomar's MATH 205, which covers MATH 20C, lists MATH C2220 or MATH 141E as its prerequisite. Finish one of the two before you enroll in MATH 205.

    Accounting runs financial before managerial

ACCT 202, Palomar's match for MGT 5, requires ACCT 201 first. Take financial accounting before managerial accounting, in that order.

    FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

What classes transfer from Palomar to UCSD business economics?

MATH 140, 141 and 205 for calculus, ECON 102 or ECON 101 for economics, and ACCT 201 with ACCT 202 for accounting. Enhanced sections of the first two math courses also count.

What doesn't Palomar cover for UCSD business economics?

ASSIST lists no Palomar course for ECON 5, MGT 16 or MGT 71. None of them affects admission screening, so those three are finished at UCSD after transfer.

What's the admit rate for UCSD business economics?

54% of 2025 transfer applicants were admitted, across every college sending students to the major, not Palomar specifically. UCSD screens on completed prep courses and their combined GPA.

Does Palomar ECON 101 count for UCSD business economics?

Yes. ECON 101 at Palomar is Principles of Economics (Macro) and matches UCSD's ECON 3. ECON 102, the microeconomics course, is the other accepted option, matching ECON 1.

    Related Transfer Plans

Palomar College students applying to UC San Diego's Business Economics B.S. through the Rady School of Management can complete six of nine required courses at Palomar. MATH 140, 141 and 205 cover calculus, with enhanced sections for the first two, and ACCT 201 with ACCT 202 cover accounting. ECON 5, MGT 16 and MGT 71 have no Palomar match and finish at UCSD. Transfermatic tracks the MATH C2220 or MATH 141E prerequisite ahead of MATH 205 so the sequence stays on schedule.
