The Samueli School wants math, science, and engineering prep finished before Cal-GETC or UCI's own GE pattern, and IGETC has no role in transfer admission.
Six semesters through MATH 84
MATH 40 leads into MATH 50, MATH C2210, MATH C2220, MATH 80 and finally MATH 84: six semesters minimum. Start the chain early since later engineering courses depend on it.
LBCC semesters, UCI quarters
LBCC runs semesters while UCI runs quarters, so one LBCC course can clear two UCI courses. MATH 80 covers both MATH 2D and MATH 2E, and MATH 84 covers MATH 3A and MATH 3D.

Don't confuse the two ENGR 54 courses
LBCC's ENGR 54 satisfies UCI's programming requirement, ENGRMAE 10. UCI's own ENGR 54, Materials Science, is a separate, unmatched course at LBCC, so the shared number is a coincidence.
One math course covers two requirements
MATH 84 satisfies both MATH 3A (linear algebra) and MATH 3D (differential equations) at UCI. It's a single LBCC course doing double duty.
Five requirements stay open after LBCC
Materials Science, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, and both Introduction to Engineering courses have no LBCC match. None of them is on UCI's admission list, so you'd pick them up after transferring.

Does LBCC MATH 60 transfer to UCI Mechanical Engineering?
Yes, or its honors version MATH 60H. Either clears UCI's MATH 2A, continuing into MATH 70 and MATH 80 for the rest of the calculus sequence.
What doesn't LBCC cover for UCI Mechanical Engineering?
