UCI Mechanical Engineering: full GE notes
The engineering school wants math, science, and engineering prep finished before Cal-GETC or UCI's own GE, and it doesn't factor IGETC into transfer admission at all.
Five semesters of math and physics
MATH 192 leads into MATH 193, MATH 292, MATH 294, and PHYS 231, five semesters minimum. Starting calculus late pushes the whole physics sequence back with it.
DVC semesters, UCI quarters
DVC runs semesters while UCI runs quarters, so one DVC course can cover two UCI courses. MATH 292 alone clears both MATH 2D and MATH 2E, UCI's two quarters of multivariable calculus.

Common Mistakes for This Transfer Path
Start calculus with MATH 192
MATH 182 also clears UCI's MATH 2A, but MATH 193 needs MATH 192 first. Take MATH 192 so the rest of the sequence, MATH 193, MATH 292 and MATH 294, stays open to you.
Dynamics has no DVC match
ASSIST lists no DVC course for ENGRMAE 80. It isn't on UCI's admission list, so you'd take it at UCI. It's one of just three gaps left in your prep.

Does DVC MATH 192 transfer to UCI Mechanical Engineering?
Yes. MATH 192 clears UCI's MATH 2A and is the course MATH 193 requires, so it starts the sequence through MATH 292 and MATH 294. MATH 182 also clears MATH 2A but doesn't lead into MATH 193.
What doesn't DVC cover for UCI Mechanical Engineering?
Three of 22 requirements: ENGRMAE 80 (Dynamics) and ENGR 7A and ENGR 7B (Introduction to Engineering). DVC has no course ASSIST matches to any of the three, and none is required for admission.
Does DVC cover Materials Science for UCI Mechanical Engineering?
Yes, DVC's ENGIN 240 clears ENGR 54, and ENGIN 210 clears Thermodynamics (ENGRMAE 91). Both need CHEM 120 first, which is also the chemistry course UCI requires for admission.
