What UCLA Says About Biology Transfers

    • Required prep: a year of biology with lab, a year of calculus, a year of general chemistry with lab and one semester of organic chemistry with lab. It must be complete by the end of spring before transfer.
    • You cannot change from a non-life-science major into a life-science major after admission. Demand far exceeds space.
    • General education: UCLA strongly encourages community college applicants to the College of Letters and Science to complete IGETC/Cal-GETC. It is not required.
    • TAG: UCLA does not offer the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG).
