What SDSU Says About Mechanical Engineering Transfers

    • SDSU is impacted in every major. The fall 2027 minimum GPA for Mechanical Engineering is 2.70, and local-area applicants get priority. Palomar/MiraCosta students with 100% of their coursework there also count as local, because CSU San Marcos does not offer this major.
    • All major prep in the SDSU catalog must be done by the end of spring 2027. Summer 2027 courses do not count.
    • General education: SDSU says its own GE pattern, rather than Cal-GETC or CSU GE certification, is commonly used by engineering majors.
