Transfers ToCSUDescriptionAccording to Title 5 education code, section 55252, Occupational Work Experience Education is supervised employment extending classroom - based occupational learning at an on-the-job learning station related to the student's educational or occupational goal. This course is designed for students working in a paid or unpaid job in the food service, hospitality and restaurant industries. The course provides students with a structured program designed to teach them new soft and employability skills that assist them in advancing in their current position or securing a job in the future. The student is required to attend an orientation at the beginning of the course. One semester unit of credit will be awarded for every 54 hours of work experience Students can earn a maximum of 8 units per term. Students may earn a maximum of 16 units of occupational work experience during their community college attendance. Only one Work Experience course may be taken per semester. Note: Students must be working in a job or volunteer position related to their major.
