    Description
    This course provides the clinical laboratory experience in phlebotomy required to qualify for the examination of Certified Phlebotomy Technician I. After successfully demonstrating the following objectives, the student will have completed the 40 hour Phlebotomy Clinical Practicum necessary for obtaining California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certification as required under Sections 1035.1. Students will learn about selecting blood collection equipment, infection control, skin punctures, venipunctures, post puncture care, processing of blood, disposal of needles, sharps, and medical waste.
