    This course examines the role of sport in historical and modern society in the United States. This course investigates the impact of various gender, ethnic and cultural under-represented groups have influenced sport participation at the local, state, and national levels. While the course places an emphasis on the effects in US society, students will analyze how sport influences and shapes attitudes among various societies worldwide. Media influences on the perception of sport in society will also be examined.(CSU/UC)
