Four semesters to reach organic chemistry
OCC's route to CHEM 30A runs CHEM A130, then CHEM A180, then CHEM A185, then CHEM A220. That's four semesters minimum, so get into chemistry as soon as you arrive.
OCC semesters feed a UCLA quarter major
OCC runs on semesters while UCLA runs on quarters. CHEM A180 and CHEM A185 together stand in for UCLA's CHEM 20A and CHEM 20B, and UCLA's 60-to-70 unit target is counted in the semester units OCC already awards.

One biology course can cover two slots
BIOL A225, Human Physiology, is one of three accepted options for LIFESCI 7C and the only OCC match for PHYSCI 3. Pick it over BIOL A182 or BIOL A221 and it counts toward both requirements.
Calculus only works one way here
OCC has no course listed for MATH 3A, so the path runs through MATH 31A instead. MATH A180 gets you there; MATH A180H or the combined MATH A182H cover it too, if you want the honors track.
Five ways to clear the second writing course
Once ENGL C1000 or ESL A100 is done, OCC accepts ENGL A101, ENGL A101H, ENGL C1001, ENGL C1001H or PHIL A150 for the second composition requirement. Any one of the five satisfies it.

What GPA do you need for UCLA nursing as a transfer?
UCLA looks for a 3.5 cumulative GPA in UC-transferable coursework, 60 to 70 semester units, and a C or better in every prerequisite. Full Cal-GETC or IGETC certification is required at entry; partial certification won't count.
Does UCLA nursing have a separate application?
Yes, a nursing supplemental application is due January 15, 2027, on top of the regular UC application. ASSIST's notes describe it as including a purpose statement and two recommendations from someone who has supervised or taught you.
