It is designed to prepare students for work in entry-level positions in Public Safety through classroom instruction, hands-on training and community experience. This course encompasses career opportunities in a variety of jobs in which the focus is ensuring the general safety and public service to the community. The careers included in this pathway primarily address law enforcement, fire protection, public safety dispatch, and emergency medical services. Instruction will focus on understanding the multitude of careers in the field of Public Safety and the various certifications available in the industry. Integrated throughout the course are career preparation standards, which include basic academic skills, communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, workplace safety, technology, lifetime health, nutrition, fitness and employment literacy. Grades are P/NP Option.
