Lecture emphasizes the physical properties, reactions, and reaction mechanisms of aromatic hydrocarbons; aldehydes and ketones; the preparation, reactions and identification of carboxylic acids and their derivatives; alkyl and acyl amines; beta- dicarbonyl compounds; and various classes of naturally occurring, biologically important compounds.
