This course covers culture and facilitates language acquisition through listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Content is expanded beyond "survival" needs of the immediate environment and covers linguistic functions such as expressing personal opinions, making suggestions on familiar topics, as well as on some abstract issues. The course also analyzes works of cultural and philosophical importance.
