    Description
    This research methods course has students examine fundamental elements of empirical research and the ways in which sociologists and social scientists gather, evaluate, and critique social data. The course goes into detail about the roles of theories, hypotheses, variables, and ethics of research. The course provides students with an overview on the research methods that focuses on the application of qualitative and quantitative analytic tools including logic and research design, such as survey, observational, experimental, case study, and comparative historical research and basic statistical analysis. Computer statistical applications is required for the course.
