Through guided theory applications and analysis, the course includes: an introduction to two-part counterpoint; voice leading involving four-part chorale writing; diatonic harmony; and an introduction to secondary/applied chords and modulation. Music majors are required to take MUSC 020B concurrently with this course. Non-majors are encouraged but not required to take MUSC 020B concurrent with this course.
