    Professionals This course is designed for individuals with a professional duty to respond to emergencies, including healthcare professionals and other personnel in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. The course focuses on the cardiac chain of survival, and how to recognize and respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies for the adult, child, and infant. Additional topics include the principles and application of one and two person CPR and the Automated External Defibrillator, the Bag-Value-Mask, victim and rescuer safety, the prevention of disease transmission, and team dynamics. Successful completion leads to certification in "BLS - Basic Life Support for Providers" of the American Heart Association.
