Students discover, develop, and critically analyze ideas in public discourse through research, reasoning, organization, composition, delivery to a live audience and evaluation of various types of speeches, including informative and persuasive speeches. Students are invited to explore ethical public speaking and apply this knowledge to their personal and professional lives. This course offers students the knowledge, tools, and confidence necessary to elevate their voices in an inclusive and welcoming environment that values diverse backgrounds, lived experiences, and perspectives.
