Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course provides an examination of cognitive development in young children within the context of early childhood Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum. Emphasis is on developmentally appropriate learning experiences which enhance children's thinking and understanding of the physical and social world. Additional topics include brain development, implications of Piaget's and Vygotsky's theory of constructivism, teacher-learner interactions, and using content standards for science and mathematics.
