Culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate anti-bias and anti-racist approaches are emphasized. This course also involves self-reflection of one's own understanding of the impact of systemic racism and white supremacy on educational outcomes for African American, Native American, Asian American, Middle Eastern American, and Latina and Latino American children. Students are given the opportunity to integrate anti-bias and anti-racism goals to better inform their teaching practices and/or program development.
