Institutions such as the welfare system, the justice system, and healthcare are explained. A particular emphasis is placed on issues of human needs related to socioeconomic factors, health, and mental health. Case management and the tasks of culturally responsive social workers are explored. Social work as a career, including qualifications as well as legal and ethical requirements are also covered.
