    in MATH263 (if PHYSICS039 is taken before PHYSICS038). The third semester of a three-semester calculus-level sequence in introductory college Physics designed for Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Engineering & Mathematics majors. Topics include Oscillations, Wave Motion, Sound, Light, Optics, Special Theory of Relativity, Quantum Theory and Early Models of the Atom, Quantum Mechanics, Molecules and Solids, Nuclear Physics and Radioactivity, Elementary Particles, and Astrophysics and Cosmology. The laboratory includes both quantitative and qualitative experiments which permit students to verify, illustrate and deduce the laws of physics related to the topics discussed.
