    United States II (3) UC/CSU This course is a survey of the history of the Mexican people in the United States from 1848 to the present time. The content includes a discussion of the United States War with Mexico, the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo and the subsequent incorporation of Mexicans into the United States. Emphasis is placed on the politics of race, its origin in the colonial process and its impact on the historical development of a Mexican- American ethnic identity in the United States.
