    This course traces the development of the Americas from the Latin American wars of independence to the present, stressing Latin American development, inter-American relations and constitutional patterns. Emphasis is placed on the contrast between the development of Latin America as opposed to that of the United States and Canada, as well as the relationships between the Americas and the world.
