    Description
    This course provides students with scientific rationale and practical application involved in responding to a victim with a potential life-threatening condition. Students will become proficient in performing CPR, and in the use of an AED. Legal ramifications will be discussed in class along with factors involved when dealing with special populations. In addition, the course covers the management of infectious diseases, splinting, bandaging and spine boarding. The AHA American Heart Association standards will be followed along with candidacy in becoming certified in First Aid & CPR/AED BLS. HEALTH OCCUPATIONS (HLTHOCC)
