- DENTAL HYGIENE COURSE DESCRIPTIONS This course will examine public health issues, policies and services that affect health care and oral health. Exploration of the dental hygienist's role in public health services and community-based programs is included. Topics that will be covered include an in-depth review of assessment, planning and implementation of community-based programs, the grant process and the impact of the direct access provider on programs and initiatives.
