    DEN AST 005 Students will develop an understanding of microbiologic and nutritional conditions related to dentistry; principles of patient motivation and education: etiology, process and prevention of caries and periodontal disease; design and management of a plaque and oral disease control program; brushing flossing and the use of adjunctive aids; dietary counseling.
