    CREDIT COURSE LISTINGS & DESCRIPTIONS This course deals with the philosophy and history of corrections, including the municipal jails, state penitentiaries, federal prisons, and private prisons. Also covered is an overview of the criminal law, constitutional law, crime theories, punishment and rehabilitation. Other topics include the organization and jurisdiction of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, role expectations and their interrelationships, a survey of professional career opportunities and the minimum qualifications required for employment as a corrections officer.
