    Description
Students learn about bonding, molecular structure, stereochemistry and nomenclature of organic compounds, the chemistry of functional groups with emphasis on reactions and reaction mechanisms. In the laboratory, students learn the essential skills of synthesis, purification, extraction, and identification of organic compounds, as well as the use and application of state-of -the art analytical instruments such as GC, FT-IR, NMR, etc. CHEM 211 is required as one of the pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy etc. courses.
