Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course provides an overview of what facilities management is and explains in detail the information needed to run an efficient facility. Furthermore, students will learn what building systems are, and what is needed to provide a safe and healthy building. Additionally, this course will explain how to maintain a cost-effective site and manage operations at peak performance levels while obtaining contractors and personnel to perform the duties necessary. Students will be introduced to key concepts of what it means to be a facility manager which range from the role they play in the organization to the skill sets and competencies required to effectively perform their work. This course introduces the student to the importance of how and what facilities professionals do to ensure that the building is healthy and safe for all occupants, contractors, and visitors.
