Through the course, applying the scientific method, the student will trace the place of humans in the animal kingdom, with special emphasis on primates. Archaeological evidence associated with human fossils is examined and human physical variability is probed within the context of Mendelian and population genetics. Student will gain an understanding of the biological evolution that has led the human species to have changed and adapted over time to be what we are today. (GE Areas - IGETC: 5B; CSU GE: B2)
