    Description
    ENG 004 is a comparative study of selected works, in translation and in English, of literature from around the world, including Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and other areas, from the mid or late seventeenth century to the present. Special attention is given to critical thinking and writing within a framework of cultural diversity as well as comparative and interdisciplinary analysis. A goal of the course if to promote an understanding of the works in their cultural, historical, and political contexts and of the enduring human values that unite the different literary traditions.
