    Description
    HUM 032 explores cinema as a 20th-century art form, inviting students to view and analyze historically and artistically significant films. The course covers the artistic and technical aspects of filmmaking, the business and history of the film industry, and the close analysis of films from various genres. Students will examine broad questions of form and content, aesthetics and meaning, and history and culture through a diverse range of productions and film movements. Topics include modes of production, visual design, editing, sound, genre, ideology, and critical analysis as well as representations of race/ethnicity, gender, class, sexual orientation, and ability.
