- Independent study provides individual students challenging and in-depth study on approved topics within any subject area. Independent study proposals must have the approval of the instructor and appropriate administrator. It is expected that the study will not duplicate existing curriculum; rather, it will be of an advanced nature and extend approved courses or series of courses.
