    Description
    This introductory course is designed for students interested in the field of water distribution. The course will cover water supplies, principles of hydraulics, and management of a water utility. The course will focus on operation and maintenance of a water distribution system, understanding pressure, head, friction loss, forces, water velocity, and size capacity relationships within a distribution system. Also covered are water meters, pump characteristics, sizing of pumps, water chemistry, introduction to water treatment, arithmetic, and administrative functions behind the distribution system. The class will include the Expected Range of Knowledge (ERK) required for the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) water distribution exam at D1 and D2 levels.
