    Description
    This course provides the initial didactic and lab component of the Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) Program. Students will complete 108 hours of structured lectures and 16 hours of organized lab practice. Covered material includes all topics outlined by California EMSA Title 22 for Critical Care Paramedic programs. Successful completion of this course, along with EMS 087B , will result in a completion certificate required for Critical Care Paramedic accreditation by the State of California. This course will also incorporate equity-minded instruction, active-learning strategies, and personalized learning approaches to engage diverse learners, promote inclusive clinical decision-making, and support mastery of advanced critical care concepts in dynamic transport environments. Prerequisite: 3 years as a licensed paramedic. This will be reviewed during the application period prior to the enrollment to the course.
