Emphasis is placed on advanced communication skills for patient care, including detailed patient interviews, discussion of diagnoses, treatment plans, and culturally appropriate patient education including cultural concepts of distress and Latinx health issues. Students develop greater fluency and accuracy in professional Spanish through medical role-play simulations, case studies, and authentic healthcare materials.
