Emphasis is on listening, speaking, reading and writing Japanese. Study of basic grammatical principles and Japanese pronunciation are also emphasized. Students are introduced to the use of Japanese characters. The history and culture of the Japanese people will be discussed. Web-based resources will be used to supplement classroom instruction.
