    This course surveys the history of the United States from the colonial era to the present, with emphasis on the experiences of LGBTQ+ peoples. The course will survey the origins, development, and current status of LGBTQ+ reform and liberation movements in the U.S., with particular emphasis on 20th and 21st century developments. Includes the lives, communities, organizations, and resistance movements created by LGBTQ+ peoples from diverse racial, ethnic, and class backgrounds.
