Emphasis will be placed on the participation and contributions made by Asian Americans to the social, political, and economic development of American society, with a focus on Americans of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Southeast Asian, and South Asian ancestry. The course will examine the major historical forces and trends in American history that have impacted and shaped the social, economic, cultural, political, and intellectual heritage of the Asian American in the United States.
