Reaction mechanisms, synthesis, and spectroscopic techniques are emphasized. Biomolecules, such as proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids, will form connections between organic chemistry and biochemistry. In addition, this course covers the utilization of the techniques of experimental organic chemistry, including chemical and physical separations, purification, chemical syntheses, extraction methods, and structure determinations, with an emphasis on functional group analysis, reactivity, and mechanisms.Usually HeldTue Thu 8:30am–9:45am, Fri 8:30am–2:20pm, Thu 11:30am–5:20pm, Tue 11:30am–5:20pm
