    Description
    This course introduces the student to the needs of children and adults who are nonverbal or have limited verbal abilities. Students will learn about the types of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, with emphasis on the preparation, use, and maintenance of selected low-tech and high-tech equipment. Opportunities for structured practice in the development and implementation of AAC tools will be provided.
