Using sociological analysis, it examines the cultural, political and economic practices and institutions that support or challenge racism, racial and ethnic inequalities, as well as historical and contemporary patterns of interaction between various racial and ethnic groups. Additionally, this course will explore the intersections between race/ethnicity and other sociological categories such as class, gender, sex, sexuality, age, look, and abilities associated with physical and mental challenges.
