    Prerequisite Prerequisite: 18 years of age by end of course. CPR training equivalent to the current American Heart Association's Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care at the Healthcare Provider level. Contact EMT Instructor with any questions.

    Description
    This course provides the skills and assessment techniques needed to care for an ill or injured person in the pre hospital setting. It follows the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards and prepares the student for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Exam. Completion of this course with an 80% is required for admittance to the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Exam. Repeat by petition is available for those who did not meet NREMT standards for certification, otherwise the student should take the Health Education refresher course. In order to be certified, a student must be 18 years of age by the end of this course.
