Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course e xamines the cultural, social, economic, and political evolution of Mexican-Americans with emphasis upon the inter-relationships between the histories of the United States and Mexico from Pre-Columbian times to the 21 st Century. It will examine the historical heritage and culture held in common by Mexican Americans as well as the diversity that exists within this group. It will also study the challenges that Mexican Americans have faced and the ways in which they have organized to combat these challenges. Finally, it will explore the intra-group tensions, evolution of culture, and conflicts that have arisen over the historical period of the course.
