    Description
    This course is a study of representative literary works from various cultures from the seventeenth century to the present. The course explores texts from many cultures, including texts from the Enlightenment, the Romantic Period, and the nineteenth and twentieth century. Course emphasizes applying critical thinking to literature, investigating cultural contexts, applying reasoned analysis, comparing themes and structures of different texts, research, and practicing academic conventions of literary discourse in writing.
