Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is a study of the unique verbal and non-verbal forms of communication in infants and toddlers that enhance the relationships between primary caregivers and the children in their care. Emphasis is on the role of the caregiver in reading the diverse infant/toddler's gestures, body language, facial expressions, and verbal cues to establish a nurturing relationship. Strategies for working with children with special needs, dual language learners, and those experiencing trauma will be explored. The importance of supporting and engaging diverse families will also be addressed.
