    No Credit. Lecture 36 hours. Develops oral and written communication skills in standard English within the context of child care, child rearing, and parenting. Strengthens listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills useful for communicating with and about children at different stages of development on topics including day-to-day care, health, education, and safety. This course is intended for non-native speakers of English who are parents, grandparents, and child care providers. This course is recommended for non-native speakers at novice-high level or higher according to California Pathways or A2 or higher according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
