- Introduces the fundamentals of improvisation and small jazz ensemble performance groups including history, theory, aesthetics, and contemporary criticism of jazz. Emphasizes performance techniques and stylistic interpretation in basic blues and other jazz standard styles. Attendance at rehearsals and performances is required. [D; CSU; UC] (Same as: NC 3079 )
