    Uses Java to introduce object-oriented programming and software engineering with an emphasis on applications in science, engineering and mathematics. Introduces classes, methods, parameters, control structures, and basic inheritance. Emphasizes use of modularity, abstraction, documentation, testing, and verification techniques.
