    Introduces first half of JPN 101 , both spoken and written at the survival level including cultural topics. Includes essentials of grammar, pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, Hiragana and Katakana. Emphasizes relationship between language and culture. Equivalent to first half of JPN 101 .
