    Description
    Provides instruction in reading, writing, and grammar at a novice-high level of English. Emphasizes reading non-fiction and narrative texts and writing academic paragraphs from two sources. Presents simple and progressive tenses, modals, sentence structure, and vocabulary. Includes listening/speaking to synthesize from sources. First of four semesters of academic ESL. [ND]
